Celebrating 25 Years of Bold Impact

Congratulations Mildmay Uganda for the Great 25 Years of Impact! It was all joy, happiness, and celebration as we gathered at All Saints Church, Lweza for the Thanksgiving Service. Thank you, Team, for walking the 25 Years Journey. Thank you for contributing to our Vision: COMMUNITIES TRANSFORMED FOR SUSTAINABLE HEALTH.

Our journey finds its roots in the compassionate work of Reverend William Pennefather, a vicar at St. Judes, Mildmay Park, Islington, during the mid-1860s. Alongside his wife Catherine, they pioneered the Mildmay Institutions, offering spiritual guidance and care to the ailing. The 1866 cholera outbreak in East London marked the inception of Mildmay's commitment to care, training, and education. In Uganda, we answered President Yoweri Museveni's call in 1998, opening the Mildmay Centre (TMC) as a specialist HIV/AIDS facility, emphasizing training and capacity building.

We have embarked on a year of celebration, marking 25 years of providing care, empowering communities, offering education, and advancing research in Uganda.

Join us in thanking God for the key achievements of the past 25 years: supporting over 200,000 People Living with HIV to lead quality lives, building the capacity of over 18 districts to deliver quality care, and serving over 2,000,000 individuals with our services in 2022 alone.

Since 1998, Mildmay Uganda has employed bold strategies to strengthen healthcare systems, enabling thousands of vulnerable Ugandans to lead healthier, longer lives. Our efforts aim to empower the communities we serve to take charge of their own well-being by training healthcare professionals, generating evidence for informed decision-making, and reinforcing health systems. Our impact is resolute.
