JOB TITLE: Marketing Officer
Reports To: Principal
Job Summary: The position holder will be responsible for generating new business for MIHS by leading the implementation of comprehensive marketing across MIHS business units. This includes representing MIHS at networking events to create awareness of the Institute and the services offered, scanning the environment to identify prospects, researching and analyzing sales options, and performing lead generation activities such as cold calling, face-to-face meetings with prospective customers, and managing online tools to identify and recruit potential clients.
Position’s expected Key Result Areas:
- Lead the implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies across MIHS business units.
- Represent MIHS at networking events to increase awareness and visibility.
- Identify and analyze potential business opportunities and sales options.
- Perform lead generation activities, including cold calling and face-to-face meetings with prospects.
- Manage and optimize online tools to recruit potential clients.
Qualification & Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in B.COM (Marketing), BBA (Marketing), BSc (Marketing), or a Higher Diploma in Marketing with a related bachelor’s degree.
- At least 2 years’ experience in sales and marketing with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Skills in marketing through social media and designing graphics.
- A demonstrated ability to increase revenue through new business generation.

- Strong communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
- Excellent client relationship management and the ability to influence and negotiate.

JOB TITLE: Lecturer - Nutrition Programs
Reports To: Dean School of Applied Sciences
Job Summary: To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students of the MIHS School of Applied Health Sciences to fully develop skills and fulfill their academic potential. The job holder will also work as part of the team to ensure that the curriculum, as approved by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education and the affiliated Institutions, is delivered to the set standards of quality. The expected result is well-nurtured students who demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and academic excellence.
Position’s expected Key Result Areas:
- Develop and deliver course content, ensuring that the set curricula is offered at the highest standards, within the set time, and with appropriate learning/teaching methodologies to produce students with strong skills and academic excellence.
- Organize students’ assessments (formative and summative) and ensure timely marking and feedback utilization.
- Conduct mentorship and supervision of students to ensure the application of relevant theory to practice.
- Contribute to the marketing of the Institute to strengthen its positioning as a leading training institute in Nutrition & Dietetics in the region.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master’s degree in the relevant field; plus, a postgraduate diploma or diploma in education. OR a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline with a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Lecturer in a recognized institution of higher learning, or 3 years of experience as a Nutritionist in a busy public health setting.
- Experience/knowledge of relevant MOH/MOES guidelines and policies.
- Ability to network and liaise with various partners.
JOB TITLE: Grants and Business Development Officer
Job Summary: The position holder will contribute towards strategic and innovative income-generating ventures for non-tuition income through the MIHS grants and business development center. This includes grants acquisition, community capacity-building programs, professional development programs, consultancies, technology and innovation, and experiential learning to facilitate the sustainability of MIHS.
Position’s expected Key Result Areas:
- Lead MIHS resource mobilization through grants and other innovative initiatives.
- Establish and manage partnerships for MIHS business growth.
- Lead the management of community empowerment programs.
- Seek and deliver consultancies in line with MIHS vision, mission, and core values.
- Identify training needs, develop, and deliver professional courses.
Qualification & Experience:
- First degree or its equivalent in a health or education-related field.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (Health, Education, or Management).
- Training in resource mobilization is an added advantage.
Job-related experience and knowledge:
- 5 years’ experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership position in an education or training function.
- Track record of resource mobilization and management.
- Knowledge of key issues in current and emerging health priorities (including Palliative care, HIV, other epidemics, and general health care).
- Knowledge of business product and project cycle management.
- Knowledge of facilitating adult teaching and learning.
- Knowledge of Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education standards/guidelines.
- Knowledge of designing capacity-building interventions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
JOB TITLE: Coordinator - Medical Laboratory Technology Programmes
Job Summary: The position holder will be responsible for coordinating Medical Laboratory Technology programmes, aiming to ensure academic excellence, efficient use of resources, and the welfare of students and staff, in line with MIHS, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Sports, and relevant national/international policies and guidelines.
Position’s expected Key Result Areas:
- Lead tutors in delivering course content, ensuring that the set curricula is offered at the required standard and in the set time, and that appropriate learning/teaching methodologies are used.
- Coordinate the programme in a manner that empowers staff to deliver excellent service and high standards.
- Participate in managing the school budget, ensuring efficient usage of resources and high standards of accountability to promote program sustainability.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology/Medical Laboratory Sciences plus a postgraduate diploma in medical education or Diploma in Education.
- OR Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Education.
- Candidate must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals’ Council with a current APL.
- Experience in managing an academic program is an added advantage.
Job-related experience and knowledge:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching.
- Experience/knowledge of relevant MOH/MOES guidelines and policies.
