CDC Country Director Visits Mildmay Uganda supported Accelerating Epidemic Control project

The CDC Director, Dr. Lisa Nelson has held a two day field visit to the Mildmay Uganda supported Accelerated Epidemic control Regional office in Central Uganda. While in the Region, the Director held a meeting with the district leadership teams in the region and visited facilities supported under the program.

The CDC Director thanked Mildmay Uganda and District Leadership Team for the great work and ensuring the all clients can access quality ART and health care services. “Am extremely excited at the great work that you are doing,” revealed Dr. Lisa Nelson. She emphasised the strategic priorities for CDC and emphasized the need for accountability and transparency during project implementation.

Dr. Barbara Mukasa, Executive Director Mildmay Uganda, thanked the Director, CDC and partners for the great support towards saving lives through the Accelerating Epidemic Control project. “I thank CDC for the great support and more specifically to Dr. Lisa for the field visit,” said Dr. Barbara. She also appreciated the district leadership team for the great support and partnership.

During the visit, Hon. Joseph Luzige, District Chairperson, Mityana District Local Government appreciated CDC role and Mildmay Uganda in improving health care in Mityana and the entire region. 
Mildmay Uganda is currently implementing a five year CDC supported Accelerating Epidemic Control project in Mubende Region in five districts. These include: Mityana, Mubende, Luweero, Kiboga, Kyankwanzi and Nakasongola.
